Platinum Resistance Overview

Temperature is a physical quantity that characterizes the degree of hotness or coldness of an object. It can be measured indirectly through certain properties of the object that change with temperature (such as resistance, voltage changes, etc.). Research has shown that the resistance value of the metal platinum changes with temperature and exhibits excellent reproducibility and stability. Sensors made using this physical property of platinum are called platinum resistance temperature sensors. The most commonly used platinum resistance temperature sensors have a resistance value of 100Ω at 0°C, with a resistance change rate of 0.385Ω/°C. Platinum resistance temperature sensors offer high accuracy, good stability, and a wide application temperature range, making them the most commonly used temperature detectors in the medium- and low-temperature range (-200 ~ 650°C).
